Modern yurts

Our modern yurts are inspired by the yurts of the nomadic people. They have exactly the same type of supporting structure, i.e. wooden battens forming a latticework that remains visible from the inside, and a wooden ring at the top into which the roof poles are notched. We completely redesigned the geometry to adapt the Mongolian yurt structure to our needs in Switzerland. In our contemporary yurts, there's no need to keep the two support poles under the dome - even when it snows. Our modern yurts are well insulated and we create large openings for your everyday comfort. The canvas we use is also adapted to our more humid climate.

Our modern yurts are easier to dismantle than our wooden yurts, and they take up less space during transport. If you're thinking of moving your yurt, a contemporary yurt is the right solution.

Our range of modern yurts is designed to suit every need, from yurts for seasonal use to yurts for permanent residence.

Customer testimonial

"Nico designed and built my yurt, which I now use as a coaching practice for my company Safva. His expertise, creativity and resourcefulness enabled him to build a bespoke structure for me with attention to quality, finish and aesthetics. I am impressed by his ability to build a unique yurt that is both functional and visually impressive. I would highly recommend Anku to anyone looking for a high quality yurt builder."
